It's hard to believe we are already half way through the school year! I'm excited to see what is to come in this next half!
October is one of my most favorite months. The weather, the food, the fun; it's just the BEST! This has been a crazy week in fourth grade. Our field trips were fabulous! The Lit Fest at Park University was great. It was fun to see the students in a college environment and getting to work with two great authors was a treat. The symphony was wonderful. The music was great but they made connections to the government... which was are working on! How fun!
Looking ahead, we still have a ton of things planned for this month. We have lots of work to do and some fun things along the way. Individual picture day is next week. Look for the information coming home today in Friday Folders. Halloween parties are going to quickly approach. If you are interested in helping organize, set up, or be apart of the day, please let me know. I'd love all the help and support from our wonderful families. Also, on October 31, we will be having a Writer's Celebration. You are invited to come and check out all of our hard work!

The first official week is complete and it was amazing!! Everyone worked hard and we continued to get to know each other a little better. Students completed a couple of math pre-tests to see what they remembered from third grade as well as, to show me where what we need to start working on. Students also worked hard this week to begin their independent practice. We read around the room and did some fun free writing opportunities. We celebrated on Friday with a decorating party and got ready to get down to business. I look forward to the fun learning that will be occurring in room 39 this year!
